Your Perfect Beach Holiday
Nothing sounds better than a holiday to a warm and sunny beach to a person who lives in the colder areas of US. Getting your vacation booked to such a region will leave you elated.
One thing you should never disregard is how far your holiday destination is. Go for a location that can be accessed by making a day journey in your car. The drive will be very tiring. However, it things are planned right then everything will go well.
Firstly, it is advisable to make snacks for yourself for the journey. This will be very healthy thing to do. You could purchase carrots and celery, and take them along. For your children, nothing could be better than preparing a bag containing all their favorite snacks. All the snacks should be kept within reach so that you can have them whenever you are hungry.
Once you have arrived at your condos, you can even bake brownies and cookies for yourself. You can take the dry ingredient packed in a sealed container along. The remaining ingredients such as eggs and oil can be purchased from the local grocery shop.
Mostly, condos would provide you with basic kitchen utensils and equipments. Nevertheless, you have to buy the food ingredients yourself. Cooking your own meals is far more economical than dining out.
Many restaurants offer you lunch specials. You can count them as the times you ate out. As for the rest of the meals for example like evening meals, prepare them yourself back at your condos.
Another technique to save money would be to take along a case of bottled water or soda to be used in your journey. Gas stations usually charge a lot for drinks and food items. Therefore, it is better to have your own supplies.
These suggestions are very simple to follow but they will help a lot during your vacation, if you follow them right.

Let's Tour Seattle
Twenty minutes from the city is the wilderness that was Seattle and has always been close to its heart. One of many nearby is Raging River, just east of the little town of Issaquah at the foot of the Cascade Range. Nearness to the woods and mountains is one of Seattle's most attractive qualities.
Lake Washington Boulevard is part of the extensive and beautiful boulevard system through which one can become acquainted with the city and its surroundings.
Wooded Seward Park on its peninsula projecting into the lake appears in the distance, with Mercer Island floating to the east. Beyond each bend, other views and surprises are waiting.
Broad, dramatic panoramas of Lake Washington, Mercer Island, Seward Park, and Mount Rainier are enjoyed from higher vantage points such as Thirtieth Avenue South and South Dearborn Street.
The ever changing effects of sky and water add to the pleasure, and snow-covered Mount Rainier is an eloquent reminder of the unconquered surrounding wilderness. The first Floating Bridge has been an impressive man-made landmark since it was build 1940.
Madrona Beach is one of many public bathing beaches that are part of the city parks and available to all. Distant Mount Baker and the Cascade Range are visible beyond the foothills arising from the lake.
The bathing beaches are centers of summer activities and seem unusually quiet during other seasons. However, this off-season solitude may make them more attractive to the casual visitor.
Leschi district viewed from the Floating Bridge is a typical scene of residences and apartments fringing the lake. Changing from an area of cottages to multiple residences because of favorable zoning and property values, the waterfront has become relatively crowded.
Each apartment has sought to reach farther into the lake than its predecessors. Private docks are common, and almost no waterfront resident is without his boat.
Twisting, colorful madrona trees rising on the bluff along Magnolia Boulevard are characteristic of the Puget Sound country. The boulevard, bordering a fine middle-class residential area, looks out upon Elliott Bay, the great salt-water harbor and sea entrance that made maritime development possible.
Shipping and boating activities are constantly evident. Beyond are man made Harbor Island and West Seattle, and, to the west, the islands of Vashon and Bainbridge. Here has been unfolded much of the story of Seattle.
Driving along Queen Anne Boulevard provides another experience in motion that helps one to know city. The panoramic view progresses from the water and distant mountains to the rectangular patterns of the central business district.
Contrasting size and scale relationships produce varying textures from nearby foliage and buildings to distant skylines of West Seattle and Beacon Hill, separated by industrial Harbor Island and the Duwamish Waterway.
The decorative retaining wall at Eighth Avenue West was designed by architect W. R. Willcox in 1912. The linear pattern of the navy piers at Smith Cove contrast with the downtown skyline and distant borders of Elliott Bay as seen from the Magnolia School play-field.
Several architectural landmarks are visible in the downtown skyline. Smith Tower is the most prominent and is most often associated with Seattle as a symbol and landmark.
All of Elliott Bay is visible, from Duwamish Head at the extreme right to the many waterfront piers. One hundred and ten years of growth have changed this scene from complete wilderness to one of the world's beautiful metropolitan areas.

Come With Me On A Walk Around Manchester
Do you ever visit a city, but you don't have much time to research and explore its sights and history? You may just have one evening or morning to take a look around. Where do you start to understand the history and culture of the place? You don't have time for a guided tour and really just want to explore and have a few drinks. Well, this is the perfect guide for you. Together we will take a stroll around Manchester's compact city centre, taking a look at some of the more interesting things, and of course, having a few drinks in some typical and interesting pubs along the way.
1 Piccadilly Gardens
Let's begin in Piccadilly Gardens where the buses and trams from the MetroLink system come in. This is no more than a 5 minute walk from both Piccadilly and Victoria train stations. This city centre transport hub is a natural starting point for our trip. This busy interchange underwent a total re-design in 2001- 02. Following the 1996 IRA bomb (which led to over 200 injuries but no fatalities), a huge redevelopment campaign was implemented in Manchester city centre with an international competition being held to identify the best architectural proposal for Piccadilly Gardens. Much of the redesign and re-building investment that is evident walking around Manchester today can be traced back to this era and the investment attracted from the Millenium Fund and as Manchester prepared to host the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
The 4 Statues
Historically, Piccadilly Gardens is the original site of the Manchester Royal Infirmary from 1755 until its relocation to Oxford Road in 1910. There are 4 statues surviving todaythat were erected on the original infirmary esplanade:
Sir Robert Peel 1788-1850 (founding father of the modern Police force giving origin to the slang word for the Police "bobbies")
James Watt 1736- 1819 (whose improvements to the steam engine helped to drive the explosion of economic growth during the cotton centred industrial revolution
Queen Victoria 1819-1901 (on the throne for 63 years and 7 months she was the longest reigning female monarch)
The Duke of Wellington 1769-1852 (a leading political and military figure most famous for commanding the defeat of the French in the Battle of Waterloo in 1815).
2 Market Street and Corporation Street
Walking away from Piccadilly Gardens down Market Street, one of Manchester's principal shopping areas, you will pass the Arndale Centre, Europe's largest inner-city shopping centre. Originally constructed in the 1970s, its proximity to the 1996 IRA bomb meant that it suffered extensive damage as a result. At the crossroads at the bottom of Market Street we turn right into Corporation Street. Passing the Marks & Spencer store on the opposite side of the road we walk under the bridge linking the store with the Arndale, close to where the van, containing a huge amount of Semtex explosive was parked on Saturday 15 June. An estimated 70 000 people were in and around Manchester city centre on the morning of that day, with usual numbers being swelled by the presence of international football fans. The following day Russia were due to play Germany at Old Trafford in the 1996 European Cup. The game went ahead in front of 50 000 people and Germany won 3-0.
3 Exchange Square
Here you will find the "Manchester Eye". This was first installed in 2004 and is a 60 metre tall Ferris wheel with 42 passenger carriages giving wonderful panoramic views of the city centre and beyond. Opposite this, on the corner of Corporation Street and Withy Grove you will find a modern entertainment venue named "The Printworks". Up until 1996 this was the home of a huge printing press owned by newspaper mogul Robert Maxwell. The complex contains mostly bars and night clubs including the Hard Rock Cafe', a leisure centre and a 23 screen Odeon Cinema which incorporates an IMAX 3D screen. Back to the other side of Exchange Square we find another shopping complex called The Triangle, on the front of which facing the street is a huge tv screen showing the BBC news.
4 URBIS, Chethams College and Manchester Cathedral
Urbis
Continuing along Corporation Street and crossing Fennel Street we come immediately to Cathedral Gardens and URBIS, a huge futuristic building that is an exhibition centre dedicated to city life. The National Museum of Football is also currently being transferred here and will soon be open to the public. The building opened in 2002 and was part of Manchester's Millennium Quarter redevelopment. Exhibition space hosting many visiting temporary displays of art is spread over 5 floors.
Chetham's School of Music
Opposite and in stark contrast to Urbis' contemporary architectural design, is Chetham's School of Music or "Chet's". The school motto is "Learn To Love And Play". This building originally housed an Orphanage founded by Humphrey Chetham in 1653. In 1969 the music school was launched and now hosts up 245 young people. Entry to Chetham's is open to all regardless of financial means with generous grants available to those who successfully audition and are selected. Selection is based purely on musical potential. As well as having an excellent reputation for musical tuition, Chetham's also has an enviable academic record being one of the top achieving schools in the UK.
Manchester Cathedral
At the other end of the triangle that is Cathedral Gardens you will find Manchester Cathedral. The church was extensively reconstructed during the 19th century which gives a deceptive impression that the cathedral is a relatively modern structure. However, its origins can be traced back to 700 CE. The cathedral is a beautiful hidden gem and it is well worth taking time to look in. Its Visitor Centre effectively guides you around bringing to life the amazing history that is responsible for the fine and impressive building still standing today. It is free to enter and there are volunteer guides available to make sure that you get the most from your stay.
5 The Shambles
This is the collective name for what are two separate buildings: The Old Wellington Inn dating back to the 16th century and Sinclair's Oyster Bar originally constructed in 1720. These two buildings were almost totally demolished in the early 70s inner city developments but escaped by being raised 15 feet above their original level and reopened in 1981. However, many people at the time complained that this new scheme hid the buildings from view. When the IRA bomb exploded in 1996 the surrounding buildings took all the blast and effectively protected the Shambles that remained intact within. In the interests of post bomb regeneration, the city council decided to move the two buildings, brick by brick, to a new and prettier site by the Cathedral, a distance of 300 metres away!
Sinclair's Oyster Bar is now an excellent Sam Smith's pub serving fresh oysters and a wide range of interesting beers. This provides us with a natural resting point on our tour.
6 The Royal Exchange
We now walk past the shopping giant "Harvey Nichols" towards St. Anne's Square, the home of The Royal Exchange Theatre. The theatre is a seven-sided, glass-walled capsule, literally suspended from huge marble pillars situated in the Great Hall of the former Cotton Exchange. The unique design means all seats are less than nine metres from the circular stage giving views from all angles. This theatre's policy is to express the bewildering, complex wonderment of life through the full spectrum of theatre. Looking up at the St Anne's Square side interior wall you can still see the old prices displayed from the cotton markets all over the world: New York, Alexandria and Liverpool from an era when cotton was king. The cafe bar is a really pleasant place to linger, have a drink and browse the unique art and craft shops within the Royal Exchange.
7 Mr Thomas's Chop House
Coming back outside on to St Anne's Square, we turn left and continue to walk away from the Shambles. Here we will stumble upon the unique and wonderful "Mr Thomas' Chop House" an authentically preserved Victorian pub set on the ground floor and basement of a narrow 4 storey Victorian building tacked on to the end of the majestic neo-classical Royal Exchange. This really is a special place from it's authentic black and white mosaic flooring to the fine lime green and white ceramic wall tiles and wooden bars with brass fittings, this is a place to just buy a drink and take the time to absorb your surroundings. Founded back in 1867, the New York Times described the place as "probably Manchester's most venerable pub". Should you be feeling hungry, the fine local menu and excellent friendly service will never disappoint. And let's face it, by now you deserve a rest! You have just completed the first of our Manchester city centre walks!

How to Deal With the Stress of Losing Your Passport
Losing anything is frustrating, but to lose your passport can be a particularly painful experience, depending upon where you might be at the time. We all, I'm sure, know of somebody who has experienced the stress of trying to work out how to get home, or how to go about replacing this essential identifying item.
A family member was telling a tale yesterday about a particular trip to Perth, Australia with his wife and four children. Being a very organized family, each person had one small case and one small rucksack which they were individually responsible for. Dad had one additional item; his briefcase, in which he safely carried all of the passports, credit cards and money.
Well, the idea seemed to be "safe"! All went very well, until they arrived at their first hotel and couldn't see the briefcase when they came to unpacking their car. One very worried dad proceeded to drive for forty five minutes back through Perth traffic towards the airport. You can only imagine the thoughts which were running through his mind for that very, very long drive.
Put yourself in his shoes for a moment. You are responsible for the family and you have managed to lose passports, money and credit cards. You are in a strange country. He described the anxiety and the racing thoughts to me as if it had happened yesterday, as opposed to twenty odd years ago. In this day and age of modern technology you can scan important documents and keep them in your "online safe"; you couldn't do that back then.
He did a lot of deep breathing during that drive and kept the windows open to cool himself down. In such circumstances it pays to know how to relax your mind and your excited emotions. You can relax yourself and calm yourself if only you know how. Self hypnosis is a great help with this.
Upon arrival at the airport, believe it or not, sitting on the curb stone, exactly where they had loaded up the car an hour and a half earlier, stood the briefcase. (I doubt that would be the case in this day and age, but that's another story entirely!)
Once again, put yourself in his shoes. Imagine the feeling of elation and euphoria! He told me how he instantaneously felt as if he was floating on air. He had never felt so happy and those feelings swept over him immediately.
This is a great example of how our emotions can hit rock bottom and yet soar to incredible heights in just seconds. I dare say that even as you put yourself into each of these scenarios - lost and found - you too experienced a little of this emotion simply by identifying with the circumstances. This demonstrates how you can use the power of your mind to change the emotions which you are experiencing.

Accommodation For London Business Trips
As one of the world's most influential financial hubs, London is the bustling home for a plethora of multinational corporations. With two main centres for business - the City of London and Canary Wharf - the UK's capital plays host to business professionals from a range of business sectors. From corporate finance to insurance, publishing and law, London is at the centre of an expansive business infrastructure, attracting professionals from across the globe.
If you are one of the millions of people who visit London on business, you not only have to think about preparing an engaging presentation and looking your smartest - you will also need to consider where to stay during your trip. If you are lucky enough to be on an extended business trip, a hotel room, however luxurious, can seem clinical and unwelcoming after a long day of negotiating.
Serviced apartments are becoming more and more popular for business professionals, offering flexible, homely accommodation at a reasonable price. As with hotels, serviced apartments are available from simple to opulent forms, with studio apartments to high-end penthouse flats available to let for the duration of your trip. Unlike hotels however, you won't be disturbed by housekeeping or next door returning home rather noisily after a night on the town. For the duration of your stay, the apartment is your own, to come and go as you please.
With the latest specification in kitchen technology, sumptuous furnishings and an abundance of space, serviced apartments are ideal for unwinding. For those that want to entertain, specialist catering can be organised in many serviced apartments. London offers a smörgåsbord of restaurants, but it can be more relaxing to cook for oneself in an well-equipped kitchen, enjoying a glass of wine on the balcony and taking in the sites of the city at night.
So rather than checking yourself into the latest chain hotel and attempting to fit all your belongings into one small room, why not consider the option of a luxury space that you can call your own.

First of all with flights to Sydney you aren't going to be flying straight there, the majority of flights need to have a stopover in either Singapore or Taiwan, which is no bad thing as it gives me a chance to see some Far Eastern countries on the trip, when arranging the flight it is normally a predetermined location and not something I can change, although by comparing different flight companies I could easily choose my pit-stop country. Most flight companies insist my flight goes from home in Manchester down to London's Heathrow then onwards and eastwards!
The Darling harbor is a beautiful harbor which is located close to central business district, Sydney. The Sydney aquarium, good restaurants, Chinese garden of Friendship and the wildlife World are some of the beautiful places that this harbor offers. You can get a monorail, a bus or a train to reach this harbor. You can experience the thrill of this beautiful place by booking a cheap flight, Sydney and visit this place.

Is Medical Tourism Right for You
There was a time, not that long ago, when if someone was asked what the natural industry of a certain country was, the term 'medical tourism' barely existed and was not likely to be a part of the answer. However, the answer to that same question has changed drastically. With more and more people seeking plastic surgery and other medical procedures, going international to have these needs met has become increasingly popular.
This global healthcare, which is also widely known as health tourism, medical tourism and medical travel, has become a booming, multibillion-dollar industry. With more than 44 countries offering medical procedures to international clients, medical tourism has become a well-known national industry.
If this concept of healthcare is new to you or it is something you're considering, it may help to be clear on what it is. Medical tourism is exactly as it sounds. It is the practice of going to another country for a specific medical need, generally surgeries.
Procedures involving plastic surgeries, liposuctions, facelifts, gastric bypasses, dental work, hernia surgery, joint (such as hip and knee) replacements and in vetro fertilization are available as part of the medical tourism experience. However, traveling for other medical options such as alternative (herbal) treatments, psychiatry and convalescent care are becoming increasingly popular as well.
As the nation's healthcare system goes through its ups and downs, many people have opted for international medical travel for several reasons. Not only are some surgical procedures much less expensive, even with the cost of travel factored in, it eliminates long wait-times. Also, some other countries are more technically advanced than our own, so depending on the aliment, traveling can prove beneficial in many aspects.
There are dozens upon dozens of companies that offer package deals for medical tourism. They will include everything that one would expect when thinking about a travel package, such as transportation, hotel, meals and personal services. The only difference is these particular packages include a medical surgery.
With millions of people around the world exercising the option of medical travel, it's no wonder it has become a national industry for so many countries. If this is something you have considered in the past, you may want to check into your healthcare plan as some of these procedures could be fully or partially covered. Looking into government subsidies is also worth the time as they too may offer help to pay for some of the more common medical procedures.
If you are considering an international surgical procedure for plastic surgery or liposuction, or maybe you have a different medical need but are having difficulty getting the much-needed money together, a loan could be the solution. Visit our Bad Credit Loans website for information.

I Love Italian Travel - Liguria Wine Tours
So you are planning to tour Liguria. You have probably heard about the historic port of Genoa from which Christopher Columbus set out to visit "The New World". You may be familiar with the Italian Riviera, unashamed competitor to its French counterpart. Perhaps you have heard about Cinque Terre, five seaside villages that are a favorite with hikers and romantics.
If you haven't been to Liguria you may not have ever tasted Ligurian wine. Not all that much is exported to North America. On a personal note, I have tasted and reviewed wines from 19 of Italy's 20 regions. Only Liguria was missing. While researching this article I found a red and a white that I ordered on-line. At lost last I have finally reviewed both in other columns.
The little town of Monterosso al Mare, the largest of the Cinque Terre villages is festival land; it celebrates a Lemon Feast on the Saturday just prior to Ascension Sunday, a Flower Festival of Corpus Christi on the second Sunday after Pentecost, and a Salted Anchovy and Olive Oil Festival on the second weekend of September. Or you may prefer the upscale village of Portofino to see how the other half lives. If you like fish you can find a wide variety in restaurants ranging from mom and pop trattorias to fancy restaurants. Or visit the Acquario di Genova, Europe's largest aquarium.
The soil is poor; the slopes are steep and well-drained. Liguria has what it takes to produce fine wines. But, perhaps unfortunately, more and more of the agricultural production is going to olive groves, flowers, or housing for the numerous tourists. Ligurian grape varieties include the white Vermentino and the red Ormeasco (known as Dolcetto in neighboring Piedmont) and Rossese. They also produce some wine from one of Italy's red signature grapes, Sangiovese.
Liguria festivals include: Portofino - St. George Bonfire in April, Riomaggiore - Feast of San Giovanni in June. Casella - Historical Festival and Palio in August, Levanto - Maritime Festival in July. Pontinvrea - Cherry Festival in June, Castiglione Chiavare - Eggplant Festival in August and Bogliasco - Olive Oil Festival in August.
Companies offering wine tours of Liguria include La Dolce Vita Wine Tours, Nyala Wonder Travel, and Wine Roads. Liguria wineries that hosting visits include A Maccia Azienda Agricola in Ranzo and Terre Bianche in Dolceacqua. They are both involved in agrotourism, so you can spend a good part of your vacation on site.

Ukraine - Kiev - St Sophia Cathedral
If you travel to Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, the one site that is an absolute must for you to see is St. Sophia's Cathedral. The staff in your Kiev hotel will be glad to give you directions to this most iconic of the city's attractions.
St. Sophia's Cathedral is the oldest church in Kiev, and by far the most magnificent. Medieval records do not agree on just when the church was built, but scholars believe construction began about 1017, and was completed ten years later. Its basic design is that of the Byzantine three-aisled cruciform temple. However, it has five aisles instead of the traditional three, to allow two additional altars; one for St. George, the patron saint of Prince Yaroslav the Wise; and the other for Michael the Archangel, protector of Kiev. The cathedral was named after the Hagia Sophia in Constantinople.
The church has ambulatory galleries inside and outside. One staircase tower leads to the choir loft, and another leads to the upper floor where the scriptorium, school, library, and offices are located. The central part of the cathedral is divided into aisles and transepts by twelve supporting columns. The structure is crowned with 25 cupolas. The cupolas and vaults are arranged in such a manner as to neutralize the outward thrust of the central cupola. This results in a harmonious pyramid-like arrangement. In 1054 two bays of the internal ambulatory were converted into a burial vault for Prince Yaroslav.
Over the centuries there were numerous alterations made to St. Sophia's. In the 17th century, because of damage caused by earthquakes, and deterioration due to age, the church's exterior was renovated in Ukrainian baroque style. The bell tower was added in the mid-18th century, and the gilded cupola in 1852. However, even with all these changes being made to the exterior, the church's spectacular interior remained as it had always been.
The inner décor of St. Sophia's is decidedly Byzantine, but the subject matter varies from that of other Greek churches. Instead of the cycle of Church feast days, St. Sophia's décor focuses on the Last Supper, the Crucifixion and the Resurrection. St. Sophia's also has frescoes and mosaics on the walls and pillars, which is unusual in a Byzantine church. The church door, oddly enough, displays such secular scenes as horseracing and hunting.
In the Soviet era there was a great controversy when the Soviet government wanted to tear the cathedral down to make room for a park. Fortunately, historians fought to have the church preserved. Now it is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The 18th century Refectory has been made into a museum where visitors can learn about the medieval history of Kiev. There are excellent models that show how the city appeared before the Tatar invasions.
If you are going to travel to Kiev, keep in mind that when you are looking for accommodations in Kiev, you don't have to stay in costly Kiev hotels. You can also get economical Kiev apartments.

6 Tips for Selecting Travel Games for Kids
The right game is a lifesaver on a long trip but choosing travel games for kids can be daunting These tips will help you select the right game for your journey.
1. No loud or annoying noises. If the game is annoying in the store - leave it home (or, better yet, do not buy it). Some airlines restrict loud toys and video games that aren't played with headphones. Also, if you bring a game that requires batteries to operate, be sure to pack a spare set. For games with speakers and no head phone port, consider covering the speaker with one or two pieces of electrical tape to deaden the sound.
2. No games with lots of small pieces unless they are specifically designed for travel. Hit a pothole or spot of turbulence and the pieces will fall to the floor, likely lost in the cracks. Many games designed for travel have edges or pegs that help pieces stay in place. Be sure to include a bag for storage of the pieces if one isn't included with the game.
3. Consider the game space requirements. Card/travel games may have elaborate boards or require a large space to set up and will not work in a small space. Even regular sized cards are challenging on a tray table or in a car.
4. Is the game complicated? Avoid games with pages of rules that take a long time to figure out. While traveling it is best to stick to games that are easy to figure out.
5. How many players are required? Try to find games that have both solitaire and group play options. This maximizes the utility of a single game.
6. Open the game before leaving home. Familiarize yourself with the rules and verify that all the pieces/components are included. It is very frustrating to open a game along the way and discover you are missing pieces.
Use these tips to select the perfect travel games for kids and watch time fly on your next journey.

Party Venues in London and Further Afield
What makes a party? The guests certainly, the food and drinks undoubtedly, the weather (sometimes)…however, perhaps one of the most crucial ingredients for a really good party is the venue.
Whether it's in a private house or garden, a village field or at a famous and awe-inspiring landmark, a venue can make or break a party. Party venues don't have to be expensive, and if your house or home is suitable, that can make life much easier, but of course a large company, a corporate organisation, or someone simply with a bigger than average number of guests, will all need a proper venue.
Lots of party venues have other uses – a church or town hall, a public garden or country house. Museums and monuments often make great venues, and of course lots of London attractions double up as great party venues too, with their own events teams and lists of preferred suppliers.
Popular London party venues include the Natural History Museum and The Science Museum, Madame Tussauds or The London Aquarium, Guildhall, Two Temple and Chelsea Hospital - the list is endless.
These venues often work with a list of preferred suppliers – the florists, party planners, caterers, DJs, bands and lighting & production companies that they feel do the best job of creating parties in their party venues. Some of the best catering companies for example, such as Rocket, Alison Price and Create are all experienced in working at the country's biggest and best venues. In fact they are pretty adept at turning any location at all into the perfect party!
During Summer, you may be looking for a party venue with outside space, and there are plenty of extraordinary places to choose from. The Silver Fleet in London for example is a fleet of luxury vessels available for hire for a party – a party that then cruises the River Thames! Your guests are offered impressive panoramic river views, superb food by one of the UK's top caterers - "rhubarb" food design – and some perfect party memories.
If you prefer a land-based venue in London, you could also consider The Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea. This venue is situated in the old Duke of York's Barracks and couldn't be a better space for West London events.
As for the process of finding a perfect venue, the Internet has made that much easier. There are now a variety of event-led venue-hiring websites and organisations, which allow you to browse through all the venues located in a city. And good catering companies will also help you find the perfect venue when you have your date in mind.
Companies such as London Launch can help you find London party venues, in fact they split up their venue searches into useful sub sections such as hotels, restaurants and bars, away day venues, marquee venues, and boats, yachts and moving venues –don't forget you can party on an old routemaster bus too! All making the job of finding a party venue much easier.
Wherever you are looking to hold your party or event, and whatever that event might be - product launch, wedding or corporate gala dinner - once you've found the perfect party venue you are halfway there.

I Love Italian Travel - Wine Touring In Lombardy
So you are planning to visit Lombardy, a region of northern Italy bordering on Switzerland, the Gulf of Taranto, and the Tyrrhenian Sea. Its regional capital and largest city is Milan, the center of Italian finance, fashion, and media. Lombardy is home to La Scala, the greatest opera house in Europe, or perhaps the whole world. And the Cathedral of Milan, ooh, la, la. There are museums galore and the massive, impressive Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, a Nineteenth Century upscale shopping mall.
Small towns in Lombardy that are well worth visiting include Pavia which houses an important university, Cremona the historic center of violin making, and Mantua, where Romeo fled after killing Juliet's cousin. Its Palazzo Ducale contains 500 rooms one of which took a master seven years to paint. Save some time and money to visit the lakes. Lombardy borders no sea but it is home to Lake Maggiore, Lake Iseo, Lake Orta, Lake Como, and Lake Garda which spills over into the neighboring regions of Trentino-Alto Adige and Veneto. Each lake has its own special attractions, as do the lakeside towns such as Bellagio, which is considered one of the loveliest towns in Europe, and honored by a hotel of that name in Las Vegas.
Lombardy is home to three DOCG wines. Franciacorta is produced near Lake Iseo between Bergamo and Brescia. This is Italy's answer to Champagne and priced accordingly. The rosé tends to cost more than the white. Sforzato di Valtellina and Valtellina Superiore are vinified from the red Nebbiolo grape locally known as Chiavennasca. You may not be surprised that these wines comes from western Lombardy not far from Piedmont. After all, Nebbiolo is Piedmont's signature grape. Just for the record Sforzato di Valtellina is made from dried grapes and often costs more than Valtellina Superiore. The best Valtellina Superiore wines tend to come from the rocky Sassella subdistrict.
The major white grape varieties include the local Garganega (the major componenent of Soave in next-door Veneto), Trebbiano di Lugana, Riesling Renano, and its cousin, Riesling Italico. International white grape varieties include Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco, the major components of Franciacorta. Regional reds include Barbera, Bonarda, Chiavennasca (Nebbiolo), and Lambrusco. Pinot Noir is found in Franciacorta and some other wines such as the high-volume Oltrepò Pavese DOC made in a wide variety of styles.
Companies selling regional wine tours include Prime Italy, Le Baccanti, Romantic Travel Destinations Getaway, and Wine Tour Italia. Regional wineries accepting visits include Berlucchi in Cortefranca, Cavalleri in Erbusco, and Sertoli Salis in Tirano. A few words of warning are in order. Make sure that you check ahead of time for opening hours and whether English is spoken. Some places may charge admission; others may expect you to buy some of their products.

6 Dublin Cultural Events Not to Be Missed During the Summer
Summertime is one of the best seasons to visit Dublin. Though the Irish capital fills with tourists during this time of year, summer also offers the best chances to see a bit of that elusive Irish sunshine and to enjoy the city's comfortably warm climate. As an artistic city, Dublin plays host to a number of wonderful cultural events each summer, and here are six that should not be missed.
Street Performance World Championships. Dublin has long been a busker's city, so it's no surprise, that the Street Performance World Championships are held here each June, creating a buzz of unique and downright oddball performances on the streets.
Taste of Dublin. If you're into food, you mustn't miss this weekend festival in June that brings together the best and brightest chefs and restaurants on Dublin's growing food scene.
Bloomsday. Dublin's most famous writer son, James Joyce, is celebrated on this bizarre holiday that brings the world's literati to the Irish capital for a week of Joycean festivities culminating in the Bloomsday Walk, which traces the steps of Joyce's most famous character, Leopold Bloom, across the city.
Festival of World Cultures. This colourful multi-cultural event held each July celebrates the fact that Ireland has recently embraced immigration through a great mix of music, dance and theatre performances, cuisine and events from all over the world.
RTE Summer Lunchtime Concerts. Classical music buffs should attend these relaxing mid-day concerts held all summer long at the National Concert Hall, many of which feature performances by the RTE Concert Orchestra.
Heritage Week. Though not solely a Dublin event, Heritage Week is celebrated all over Ireland with historic walks, lectures, storytelling and other events that celebrate Ireland's rich historic and cultural heritage.

What You Need To Know About Driving In France B
Taking a driving holiday in France? There is lots that you need to know before you drive in a foreign country. Not only do you drive on the right hand side of the road, but also there are other rules and regulations that you have to take into consideration before you hit the roads of La France.
So, check out our guide to the facts you need to take into account before you head on your French driving holiday...
· Drive on the right hand side on the road in France. Coming from the UK and Ireland this will take a bit of getting used to!
· Never Drink and Drive - the blood to alcohol levels are stricter than in the UK - 0.5 mg/ml compared than 0.8 mg/ml. The best option as always is not to drink and drive on French roads!
· The Minimum Age for drivers on French roads is 18 years of age. Learner drivers are not permitted.
· Always, always, always wear your seatbelt! The French Police are very strict on enforcing this law, and heavy fines are imposed for any infringement of the French Driving rules.
· Children must be at least 10 years old before they can travel in the front passenger seat. Child seats and boosters must be provided and used for children under 10 years old.
· Carry your Full drivers licence with you at all times.
· Carry your proof of insurance with you in the vehicle, and car rental documents.
· In the unfortunate circumstance of an accident or a breakdown, a warning triangle must be used on the road. Use also the orange SOS phones that are located along the roadway, and you must also inform the Police. Carry a yellow florescent jacket within the car to wear in the event of an accident.
· In the event of poor visibility always use your dipped headlights or foglights.
· Some useful telephone numbers to be aware of are: 15 for Ambulance, 17 for Police, 18 for the Fire brigade, 112 for all three services (similar to 999 in the UK).
· If you want to phone home to the UK, remember to precede the number with 0044 and drop the first zero from the UK number.
· Carry with you a good French road map. Even if the car is supplied with GPS!
· Overall, France has more than 8,000 km of motorways. These are known as 'Autoroutes' or A Roads. The vast majority of these are toll way roads (known as Les Péages), which are operated by private sector companies. Trunk roads are marked with the 'N' symbol.
· Speed limits are strictly enforced - so be careful. Radar speed traps are commonplace in France. 50kmh is the speed limit in towns/urban areas. Other trunk or rural roads are 90kmh. Dual carriageways are 110kmh, and motorways are 130km/h.
· Petrol is usually sold as Super/Super 97 - diesel is known as gas-oil. The larger supermarkets provide the cheapest fuel. It is important to remember that very few of the rural petrol stations stay open for 24 hours a day and they may well be closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays too. If your driving route in France takes on the rural route, remember that you might travel for miles without coming across a petrol pump, so don't let the petrol tank run down to nothing!
· Daunted by the French road signs - don't be! Once you get used to them you will be fine. A common sign you will come across is 'Toutes Directions' which means All Directions. Unless you want to visit a particular town or village this is a good way of bypassing a place. Such signs always appear together with another one called 'Autres Directions' meaning Other Directions. So if you see a sign for 'Lyon plus Autres Directions', unless you want to go to Lyon, then go the other way, and you will find signs to where you are going to.
· Except for main highways, road priority is always given to traffic that joins a road from the right, so watch out for the sign which states Priorité Á Droite.
· Confused by the language? Learn more about French road language in our French driving language guide.

Sports Adventure Holidays
When a sports enthusiast wishes to select a suitable holiday location, the first choice obviously will be a place that comes as a holiday resort as well as provides for playing sports.
There are many such people who love their sports so much that they travel abroad to watch the matches being played by their country abroad and cheer them on.
Sports adventure holidays can be packed with fun, and adventure. You can do a lot of things like rock climbing, river rafting, rappelling to simply checking out the countryside on bicycle.
You can explore various options of either taking up and learning some new sports like golf, tennis etc with a local sports club or talk to the tour companies that offer family and individual tailor made adventure tours.
The sports holidays offer you the best opportunity to work on your skill sets and improve on the weak spots in your game. Coaches and trainers will be too glad to help you work out and train you to get better. You also get to meet lot many players and bond with the team.
You get to play hard during the day, get tired and evening spend exploring the various pubs and eateries in the local place and have fun. Some clubs let you play exhibition matches with local talent, which can be a lot of fun too.
The resorts have quite a few in house adventure sports and recreational sports facilities with professional coaches to train the guests. From spending days learning golf and enjoying outdoors to learning to swim and dive or playing billiards you have ample opportunities to be sporting around.
Should you have proficiency and professional experience in a particular sports, you might want to take up a holiday abroad and join a sports company to conduct training camps in your sports and train members. You get to enjoy teaching as well as holidaying all over the world.
You can teach African children foot ball or run a rugby camp in New Zealand and thereby enjoy a holiday as well as keep active and play the sports at the same time.
Kate Spade handbag and Kate Spade shoes are inseparable.

Is Thailand a Viable Place to Retire
Thailand has been my home for six years now, and one thing that I've found to be true is that many things change, but overall - things remain the same. I'll try to explain that further to you below.
The basic truths about living in Thailand stay the same year after year - so, living here is not so much a question of whether or not you can. It's more a question of whether or not you want to continue to play the game and go through all the motions required to stay because they change frequently.
Foreigners can move to Thailand under one of the visa options and live for 3-12 months at a time before needing to consider renewing them. Unless you have a year-long visa to stay, it's rather bothersome to keep figuring out where you will go for a visa run out of the country, or which visa you will try to get that will enable you to remain living in the country. If you are retired and you have a few hundred thousand Thai Baht, or you can prove 40,000 Thai Baht income per month that originates from outside the country - then, at the moment, you can stay and get a non-immigrant visa based on that situation.
The details of getting visas - the amounts you must have for retirement visas, the location you must go to get double entry visas rather than single entry visas, and many other variables change all the time. What doesn't change is that foreigners can consistently come to Thailand and live for basically as long as they want as long as they jump through the visa hoops immigration gives us.
Another issue that changes fast and often for foreigners considering retiring here, is that of safety in Thailand. Bangkok has recently been under fire as political parties joust for supremacy and control of the country since the ex- prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra fled the country. Bullets flew in Bangkok, grenades went off, and fires were set. Bangkok routinely goes through these unsafe periods, but they always calm down - until the next time.
Thailand is basically safe, and remains safe, but there are times when those in Bangkok will need to play it very safe and avoid the areas under fire.
The teaching situation for retired foreigners that teach English has changed rather drastically lately. Foreigners are now required to be licensed by the Ministry of Education in Thailand. This is a major change, and has prompted vast numbers of barely qualified English teachers to flee the country for greener grass. The pay has not gone up for teachers in Thailand in years, and many of us are left wondering if Thailand really wants to educate their students - the next generations, to a high degree.
Yet, teaching is always available in the country, and those teachers that come from abroad and jump through the hoops can teach just like they always have. "Same-same, but different" is a saying here in Thailand, and it applies in many situations.
If you are considering retiring in Thailand or moving and trying it out before deciding to retire you should live for a while in both Bangkok and in another city, perhaps in the south or northeast to get a well-rounded picture of what life is like in both locations. Life is vastly different in parts outside Bangkok, and I myself find it worlds better away from the capital.

Can I Take Food Into Another Country
Carrying food when passing through customs is an area where many people get into trouble.
They innocently (some even knowingly) take their favourite foods, or food they have received on the plane, through customs without declaring it and then find themselves wearing a hefty fine.
Any food that is of an organic nature, i.e. any food that is animal based, dairy, fish, honey, plants, soil, seed, fruits and vegetable, etc. is not allowed to be taken from one country to another, regardless of how it is packed. These items can carry pests and diseases that may destroy crops and livestock and cause problems to public health.
Chocolate and other sweets are generally ok, as long as they don't contain any restricted items.
Hiding it in your luggage or acting like you weren't aware won't help. Quarantine is a serious issue and those sniffer dogs will find your food!
The same rules apply when you are travelling home or if you are mailing a gift to someone. As tempting as it may be, don't take food from another country home with you. With our societies are becoming more and more multicultural, chances are you'll find the same food at home anyway, so why risk it.
If you can't find it at home, you can look forward to eating it again on your return visit.
The short of it is, if you are carrying food, including food that was given to you on the flight - declare it. Yes, it may be confiscated, but it's better than wearing a hefty fine.
Remember, quarantine matters!

Big Family Getaways: Try Renting a Home
There are family getaways - and then there are family getaways. The first kind is where you pack up the kids, dogs and belongings and scrunch them into an RV or a couple of motel rooms and then kind of accept the fact there will be no privacy, quiet or downtime for the entire duration of your trip.
The second is the kind that includes privacy, quiet, downtime and general peace of mind because in this version of your family getaway you are going to book a vacation house -- and one that is big enough that everybody has their own little piece of real estate.
We concluded that the absolute best vacation home we ever rented is located in Leavenworth just at the eastern edge of the North Cascade Mountains. Leavenworth Town Fathers have milked this for the last 50 years or so with the Bavarian-themed storefronts and German-style beer and celebrations. The town just keeps getting more and more popular.
Tucked away from the downtown and a mile or so up Icicle Creek Road is a rental called Snowgrass Lodge, one of several offered by Destination Leavenworth but certainly in a class all by itself.
We wanted to sample a larger property and put it to the kid test by inviting seven grandchildren to come along and try it out. Unfortunately, that pesky Cascades weather - and very snowy passes -- limited our party to just our own immediate family of three, and my in-laws.
But no matter -- it was not hard imagining how well this particular lodging would suit a large family. In fact, we can't think of a property better suited for a large family group that is interested in a high-quality getaway in one of the best recreation spots in the entire Pacific Northwest.
There are a couple of comparisons that come to mind when trying to describe Snowgrass Lodge. The first sensation you get with this house is that you're walking into a home on the Street of Dreams. You know, the ones you can never quite seem to afford. The rich woods, the cathedral ceilings, the massive stone fireplace, the gourmet kitchen all let you know right away that this will be an upgrade from the RV park, baby.
The other sense you get is that you are now operating your own bed-and-breakfast inn - except that all the guests are your family. There are no other guests or innkeepers to share the kitchen or bathrooms with, yet the building seems large enough that it would make a reasonable size inn. There are three floors altogether with four separate living or sleeping areas, allowing plenty of separation between you and the in-laws, you and your siblings or you and your siblings' sometimes annoying family members.
Without trying to give you a detailed floor plan, suffice it to say that this vacation home has two master suites, a couple of guest bedrooms, a couple of kitchens, a huge family room for big-screen television-watching, a giant living room that is more like a hotel lobby and such conveniences as a jetted tub in the upstairs master suite as well as the outdoor hot tub overlooking the river. The location is superb as well, with views of the nearby mountains - including one that kind of looks like the Matterhorn - and wooded grounds, a lawn big enough for outdoor events and, of course, the nearby Wenatchee River.
So what does all this cost, you ask? A reasonable question with a surprising answer. Midweek it's only $475 a night for up to six guests with each additional adult $25 more, each added child $20 more. The rates are slightly higher on weekends and can be quite a bit higher on national holidays and other times of peak interest. But when you consider that a 4-star hotel room is going for $300 these days, a rate of $150 to $200 per couple or family seems to us a bargain for such a luxurious and exclusive retreat.
Leavenworth
Of course one of the best things about the Snowgrass Lodge is that it's in Leavenworth, which is about a three-hour drive east from Seattle and one of several locations in North Central Washington that are worthy of vacation time.
If you're a longtime Northwest resident, you know the Leavenworth story. If you just moved here, or have been living under a rock, the town began promoting itself as the Bavarian Village back in the 1960's. Back then it was a small town on the way to Seattle or a place that east-west travelers went through as they traveled cross-country on U.S. Highway 2. There was nothing especially remarkable except for one thing: the scenery.
Seattle people would notice right away as they drove down Tumwater Canyon just outside of Leavenworth how the mountains and rivers seemed to create picture postcard photos around every corner on the windy two-lane highway. Then, breaking out of the mountains, these travelers would immediately be met by the town of Leavenworth which is situated right at the base of those towering peaks.
Things were not going well economically back then and the powers that be decided they could change that by makikng the village look like a small town in the Alps. All it took was a series of renovations to virtually all of the town's local businesses and, voila, the Bavarian architecture combined with the mountain scenery to create the illusion that motorists were traveling through the Bavarian Alps.
Today the town attracts many thousands of visitors to annual events such as the Christmas Tree Lighting Festival and the Autumn Leaf Festival and it can be difficult to find lodging during those popular celebrations. The town also fills up with tourists any given weekend and, during summer and peak times of the year, you'll also find throngs of visitors scouring the local shops midweek for some kind of Bavarian souvenir, or dining in local Bavarian themed restaurants, or any of several other types of restaurants now available in Leavenworth.
But Leavenworth is much more than shops and food. The area is quite a recreational paradise with numerous trails leading into the Cascade Mountains and with such attractions as Lake Wenatchee, just a half-hour's drive away. In spring, river rafting is popular on the Wenatchee River.
About 30 miles east of Leavenworth is Wenatchee, the largest city in the region and home to several attractive parks and trails, including a loop trail that takes you up one side of the Columbia River and down the other side. Wenatchee acts as a kind of hub for North Central Washington, where you also find a couple of other excellent tourist destinations: the Wild West theme town of Winthrop in the Methow Valley and Lake Chelan, a natural wonder more than 50 miles long and known for excellent water sports and fishing.
AT A GLANCE
WHERE: Leavenworth, Washington, is about a three-hour drive from Seattle on Highway 2, or you can take Interstate 90, which connects with Highway 97 to come out just east of Leavenworth.
WHAT: Leavenworth is the Bavarian City, and the Snowgrass Lodge is an especially good way for an extended family to enjoy the city and all that it has to offer. Because the lodge easily separates into four different living areas, it's practical to invite other families or couples to stay in the lodge with you, which will end up costing each couple or family little more than a night in a nice motel room.
WHEN: Anytime of the year, but beware that prices for lodging are much higher during certain times of the year and when special events are planned.
Big Family Getaways: Try Renting a Home
WHY: A stay at the Snowgrass Lodge in Leavenworth is a way to combine a family outing with spectacular natural scenery and fun shopping and dining experiences.

Because the lodge easily separates into four different living areas, it's practical to invite other families or couples to stay in the lodge with you, which will end up costing each couple or family little more than a night in a nice motel room.

Relaxing on a Cruise Holiday
For many regular cruise passengers, onboard entertainment is almost more important than the shore excursions. There are those who prefer something quieter and may not want spectacular floor shows, but they will still check out the talks, the demonstrations and the musical options available before booking cruise deals. Cunard has always had a reputation for securing top-flight entertainers, eminent speakers for their lectures, and best selling writers and journalists for onboard talks.
On the Queen Mary 2 opportunities for onboard relaxation are endless. She was built for long sea voyages, so she is equipped with a wide range of entertainment to help while away the hours at sea. QM2 has a two-tier theatre, the Royal Court, which has seating for 1,100, and the productions compare favourably with the best West End shows.
Passengers with a penchant for tripping the light fantastic should head for the Queen's Room. At 134-feet wide, with one-ton chandeliers shimmering from the high ceilings the ballroom is the largest afloat, and with its glamour and size, could probably host Strictly Come Dancing. When it's not acting as a dance venue the room becomes the setting for the captain's cocktail receptions, the ship's horse races (not real horses... they are all cardboard cut-outs) and the popular trivia contests.
As well as plenty of relaxing public lounges, for passengers who like a flutter there is the casino, and for those with champagne tastes there's the Veuve Clicquot Champagne Bar. Strategically situated between the ballroom and the theatre, what better way to start the evening than with a glass of bubbly served in a Waterford crystal flute?
Queen Victoria's Royal Court theatre has the ultimate in theatre going for passengers occupying suite accommodation - private boxes on the upper level of the theatre. Audience capacity is less than on the QM2, so with this arrangement of seating everyone has an unobstructed view of the stage.
Like her sister ships, Queen Victoria has a health club and spa with the latest beauty treatments available, and for anyone needing to burn off those extra calories there is a gym with the very latest in cardiovascular exercise machines.
For something more sedentary, the library, a striking two-deck space, lined with mahogany panelling and equipped with comfy leather furnishings, has 6,000 books to browse through, plus the services of full time librarians.
Retail therapy is always available on Cunard Cruises and on Queen Victoria 4,000 square feet of deck space has been allocated for shopping. The Royal Arcade, modelled on London's grand Regency arcades, is conveniently situated close to the Casino. More shopping opportunities are available in the Cunardia shop attached to the Cunard Museum, where Cunard devotees can stock up on memorabilia.
The new addition to the fleet, Queen Elizabeth, will have all the entertainment, exercise, retail, and relaxation opportunities of her sister ships, with one or two unique innovations of her own, such as a bowling green and a croquet lawn using artificial grass, thus negating the need for a lawnmower.
Jetline Cruise are fully bonded agents, and members of the Association of Cruise Experts (ACE). Offering Cunard Cruises and Late Cunard cruise deals, we sell cruise holidays cheaply not cheap cruise holidays.

Introducing Athens
The Greek capital is undergoing a radical period of urban renewal that did not stop with the 2004 Olympics. The magnificent Acropolis, crowned by the iconic Parthenon temple, rises above the city, watching the sprawling modern metropolis evolve. Athens is now a conspicuously wealthier, more sophisticated cosmopolitan city. The shift is evident in a gradual gentrification and the new art and leisure precincts around town, and in the lifestyles of the hedonistic, trend-conscious Athenians. Stylish new restaurants, shops and revamped hotels continue to open.

Perhaps the most significant change is in the historic centre, virtually unrecognisable since cars were banished, with most significant ancient sites linked in what has become Europe’s longest and arguably most stunning pedestrian promenade. This huge archaeological park has reconciled past and present, with the city’s cultural and social life once again taking place around the ancient monuments and surrounding neighbourhoods. Athens remains a city of contradictions, as frustrating as it is seductive. It is the oldest city in Europe, yet still in a state of transition. It’s one of Europe’s safest and liveliest cities – a heady mix of grunge and grace with an undeniable urban soul.
Most visitors will leave impressed with its vibrant street life and relaxed lifestyle, where people take time out for endless coffees and evening strolls, dine out until late and enjoy the city’s nightlife, long after the rest of Europe has gone to bed. Athenians are the first to debate and lament their city’s many shortcomings – but most wouldn’t live anywhere else.

Salford Is a Wonderful Place
The BBC relocation offer for the TV presenters is described as a Rolls Royce package - and they don't want to go! What is wrong with Salford? With a neat canal side development at Salford Quays and top-flight executive penthouse apartments, this is the Canary Wharf of the North. That they should be so lucky.
Well, surely anyone can see that Salford is a dream of a place to live? With a polished landscape, gleaming with glass skyscrapers, office blocks galore, sport, superb hotels and buzzing shops, it's the new leisure capital of the North West!
No wonder, people want to keep their windows and doors shining with the rest. Go on, create a real Her Majesty, the Queen of England style home.
Just reflect for a while... a sparkling new conservatory to catch the summer sun and dine in style? Ooh, a stunning front door that just spells Welcome, Royal Family or not? Oh yes, wonderful windows that are simply a Scottish breeze?
When you go out and enjoy Salford's fabulous piazzas and restaurants, return to a soft, sun glowing conservatory - even if the sun is in short supply.
Now Salford Quays is by no means all this great northern rock of a town has to offer. It's is a city on the move and its future looks exciting. Curtain off the drizzly rain or watch it trickle in a slide down generous glassy panes, transform dull winter cloud to soft colours of calm, be Victorian, Edwardian, Queen of England, anything you like.
200 miles North West of London, who can resist Salford... one minute urban buzz, the next greenbelt tranquility.
Look, some 220,000 people who are proud to call Salford their home can't all be wrong!
